In the Can: ‘The Storied Song’ at Appalachian Center for the Arts
The voices have been captured, the stories have been told—’The Storied Song’ officially recorded on September 26th at the Appalachian Center for the Arts!
Our talented cast gathered to bring these Appalachian ballads to life through dramatic radio plays, breathing new energy into stories that have echoed through the mountains for generations. From Tom Dula's tragic fate to Lord Bateman's promises, from the Devil's visit to the farmer's house to the nightmare aboard the Old 97, these episodes preserve and reimagine our region's storytelling heritage.
The episodes are now in post-production, where our team is crafting the soundscapes, music, and final touches that will transport listeners into each world. We're working to ensure every detail honors both the traditional ballads and the fresh perspectives our playwrights have brought to these timeless tales.
We're deeply grateful to the Appalachian Center for the Arts for providing the perfect space to capture these performances, and to our incredible writers, actors, and production team who have poured their hearts into this project.
The wait is nearly over— ‘The Storied Song’ will soon be ready to share with the world.
